There’s the small matter of 11 NBA games on Friday, November, 12th. New York and Charlotte get us underway in the first tip off of the night before the Bucks face the Celtics and there’s a duel between two star rookies in Cleveland as the Cavs welcome Cade Cunningham and the Pistons.

Brooklyn is comfortably favored over the struggling Pelicans, while the Sacramento Kings head to Oklahoma City in desperate need of a win. Memphis hosts Phoenix, looking to get back on track after a loss to the Hornets earlier in the week.

Houston hosts Portland, Dallas heads to San Antonio, and the slumping Atlanta Hawks have a tough matchup with the Nuggets. Out in California, the Los Angeles Lakers’ favorable schedule continues against the Timberwolves, while two of the season’s strong starters matchup at Chase Center as Golden State hosts Chicago.

Mobley Makes Plays

Averaging 2.5 dimes per game on the season, and having gone over 2.5 just once in his last four games, bettors might be wary of backing Evan Mobley to record three or more assists on Friday night.

Special stuff from Evan Mobley tonight in MSG: 26 PTS (on just 15 FGAs), 9 REBS, 5 AST and a team-best +26 in 36 MIN. Skill level was on full display. Handling the ball like a guard, scoring + facilitating out of short rolls, spacing the floor from the corners & above the break. pic.twitter.com/7zJoJMoIv9

— Mike Schmitz (@Mike_Schmitz) November 8, 2021

Mobley continues to play a major role in the Cleveland offense, though, and his playmaking is particularly valuable with Collin Sexton sidelined for the foreseeable future. The Cavs are putting the ball in Mobley’s hands often and doing so all over the court – he’s threading passes from the elbow, handling it in the pick and roll and attacking off the bounce.

Despite a drop off in his assist totals, Mobley’s potential assist numbers have stayed around the same. He’s averaged 4.3 potential assists over his last four, a shade under his 4.5 for the year.

— NBA TV (@NBATV) November 10, 2021

Detroit’s defense is solid enough, ranking 19th in defensive rating, and Jerami Grant’s physicality on that end of the floor could limit Mobley as a scorer. The Pistons, though, are giving up the worst three-point percentage in the league, and there’s no question Mobley has the vision and skill to pick out open shooters, whether kicking off a drive or working a two-man game with Ricky Rubio or Darius Garland.

Three assists is very achievable in this matchup even though Mobley has only hit that mark in five of 12 games.

Pick: Evan Mobley over 2.5 assists (-130)

SGA Does It All

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has guided the Thunder to three straight wins. Oklahoma City’s front office might not be so keen on this run, but they have a real chance of making it four in a row when they face the Kings on Friday. Crucially for this SGA prop, it’s very unlikely to be a blowout in either direction, meaning big minutes and lots of shot opportunities for the former Clipper.

— Hoop Central (@TheHoopCentral) November 5, 2021

Sacramento ranks seventh in pace, and their defense is once again one of the worst in the league. OKC is just above average in pace. Gilgeous-Alexander has been immense to start the year, nailing clutch shots and leading the offense. He’s gone over 33.5 points, rebounds and assists in six of his last eight games. With the speed this game will be played at, and the Kings’ defensive weaknesses, this prop stood out as great value.

The Kings have just given up over 130 to the Spurs. The Thunder are playing with confidence. Gilgeous-Alexander hasn’t been at his most efficient in the last two games, going 12-for-35, but the balance of this roster means he still gets a lot of shot attempts up. There’s been an uptick in rebounding of late too, with SGA averaging 6.5 boards per contest over his last six. He’s also registered 20 dimes over his last three.

— (@ThunderFilmRoom) November 11, 2021

His averages for the year come in at just under 33.5. The opponent and his recent performances make it clear this is an over bet, though.

Pick: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander over 33.5 points, rebounds and assists (-122)
